Happy New Year!

Happy 2016!! I love the New Year. I love the motivation and excitement and promises of a fresh start it brings (Sam laughs at my boost of productivity every year, but I feel that even if it only lasts a day it is better than nothing! Happy Halloween!

Hope everyone had a fun and safe Halloween! Sam and I stayed home. We answered the door A LOT for all the trick-or-treaters in our neighborhood (we bought over 200 pieces of candy and ran out by 7:00 PM–I think it’s a new record). We ate dinner (Spicy Orange Chicken with Cucumber Couscous Rice Pilaf), watched the end of The Nightmare Before Christmas and the beginning of Hocus Pocus, and then relaxed for the rest of the night. Christmas is Coming!

“Christmas is coming”–a phrase my mother used (and still uses at times) while I was growing up when my siblings or I would mention we wanted or needed something. She literally would start using this phrase on December 26th if need be!
